Dear Prospective Honors English I Student:
We are very excited about Honors English I at Edwards Middle School and the prospect of having you in our classes during the 2023-24 school year! Requirements for the class include one summer reading assignment. The reading assignment will be followed by an in-depth unit of class instruction concerning the three levels of meaning in the novel.

Read The Call of the Wild
By: Jack London.
Procedure:
You are expected to locate your own copy of the book to read over the summer. You may purchase a copy, check it out of a local library, or read it online using the QR code (on the flyer). You will need to have a personal copy of the text in class when school starts (electronic or print). You should make a bulleted list of the most important events in each of the seven chapters as you read.
