Athletics play an important role for many students at RC Edwards Middle School. 7th and 8th grade students may participate in athletics at the middle or high school level. Athletic teams available at RC Edwards Middle School are boys basketball, girls basketball, cheerleading, football, and volleyball. RC Edwards is a member of the SCHSL and competes in the AOP Division 1 Conference for all sports.

All students must have a current physical, birth certificate, and other documentation on file before trying out for or participating on any team. All physicals must be dated on or after 4/1/23 to participate in athletics during the 23-24 school year. Detailed directions to upload these documents to BigTeams are included in the "Eligibility and Forms" tab to the left.

Edwards students are also allowed to participate on the following athletic teams at Daniel High School: Baseball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, and Wrestling. A shuttle bus is available after school to take students from RC Edwards Middle School to Daniel High School.
